Something that I had already discussed a little with Sundheep and Ash (cause we met on the train!)

We could have a portal for our school where people applying to universities can get people's opinion on their essays. This might save our college counsellors some work. There are really a few ways to do it, but all have to consider how sensitive people are in opening up to others about their essays, and plagarism. Two ways I thought of:

1) Do it peer to peer, within the level

Advantages: People might know you better, evaluate your essay better. Times might have changed, so getting someone who is in the know now can help.

Disadvantages: Obvious conflict of interests, people can actually use the site to "source for ideas" to use in their own essays. But then again, we are not really competing within our school are we (after all we only have 200 odd students per cohort). We are competing more with the other JCs in Singapore. That is unless, universities like to compare people with similar credentials.

2) Do it as an alumni thing

Advantages: more experienced perhaps? Less conflict of interests

Disadavantages: Don't really know who you are, opinions are not as personalised.

I personally prefer it as an alumni thing. It would give us something meaningful to do as alumni. But in terms of effectiveness, I am really not so sure. The bigger worry is if our alumni wants to do this at all!

Of course, there are much more details and planning that needs to go into this in order to make it work. I was considering some sort of semi-anonymity system. Am I right to think that people don't really care about remaining anonymous if you are evaluating the essay, but they do care if their essays are the ones being evaluated?

I find that I'm starting to like penning down my thoughts more often. I don't do it for people to read (although they are most welcome to give comments and start more discussions), I do it more to make me thinking more thorough and complete. I have many ideas in my head that just slip away just because I did not bother to put them to paper, which is such a waste.

Anyway, I just had a conversation with my dad and his close friend from Myanmar, my uncle Than Win. Talking to uncle TW made me realise how much our schools really don't teach. Have we ever come across the task of cleaning used lubricating oil from cars in our comfortable world here? I finally see that these are the 'practical things' my father was lamenting that we did not know how to do.

And it's not like uncle TW is only all about practical things, he even discusses with me about the Higgs Boson particle, about spirituality, about chemistry, basically about all kinds of things. When I asked him how he managed to remember facts that he learnt in school from the 70s, he gave some pretty interesting solutions.

One was that he constantly reminded himself of the facts, and whenever he has a new question he immediately acts and seeks out new information. So in that sense, he continuously builds upon his mountain of knowledge. This definitely requires some level of perseverance, and you can imagine the level he is at when he can recall facts from an entire textbook.

The second is more interactive and less methodical. He takes every opportunity to teach someone about something new, to constantly remind himself of the knowledge that he has obtained. I could feel that he was doing just that when he was talking to me about the Higgs Boson Particle. When I reflect back to myself, I now feel as though I have missed many opportunities to cement my learning because I dissed people off when they ask me about something. Like my sister for example, when she was studying for her O levels. We both could have benefited more if I had just adopted this 'teaching yet learning' attitude.

As an engineer, uncle TW has been telling me that I must "get that knowledge, then apply it". It doesn't really matter how you get that knowledge, heck there is an even wider category of knowledge than we are used to. What we normally define as knowledge now is mainly theoretical, perhaps about how many electrons there are in potassium and their orbitals. But what he has shown me is that knowing what crank size for an engine of so and so power by observing his environment on board a ship is also knowledge; being able to tell the carbon content in steel just by the colour of its spark is also knowledge. More often than not, knowledge for practical purposes is gained through more empirical and observational methods.

And to think that we think that we have seen the world if we travelled all around the Western world. I would think that we would learn much more if we go to places like Myanmar, to learn about their can-do attitude because of their having to survive in a much harsher world. I am certainly excited at the prospect of going to Myanmar this January before I enlist, to learn more about the practical side of life.

To have an opinion or not to have one. There are really so many dilemmas in life, if you have an opinion, you risk conforming to some set perspective, to be permanently prejudiced. On the other hand, not having an opinion just shows how one is wishy-washy, and it is really much less interesting if you don't have an opinion. Not having an opinion allows one to remain a sponge, to absorb all the information that is available.

I realise that I am really like that, I really don't have many opinions. Thinking about it, when Mariel asked me about how I thought of my time in council and stuff related to that, I was sort of making up opinions on the go, though they were still based on the information that I had.

When people have strong opinions, I feel as though I am inclined to accept those, especially if they are close friends. In fact, I end up impressed by them more than anything. It could be that I hate to judge things, which could be a good thing in the eyes of some, but it really that seems like a bad thing. Judging things or events accurately could make all the difference between success and failure.

Maybe it is best to form your own opinions and to keep an open mind to new ideas or information. Say if for some reason you detest some guy, you gotta know the exact reason why. Then if the person does something nice or good, you must be able to overcome your prejudice to change your opinion of people. Some say that a leopard never changes his spot, but most of our opinions are formed based on our judgment, or even those of others. So what if our judgment is wrong in the first place?

We should also consider how our opinions are formed. One of my dad's favorite topic seems to be how Singaporeans sometimes look down on Malaysians, saying how it is not safe there, people are corrupted there etc, AND therefore we should not go there. How much do we really know about this to judge things, to come to that conclusion? I don't believe that we would know what kind of crimes are prevalent there, or where it is concentrated. We won't even know how corruption would affect us, the common tourist, directly.

It seems that sometimes we take the opinions of some people and consider them sacred, consciously or not, then we make those opinions ours. I think in that case, seeing things and making judgments on your own is more important than anything.

HAHA time to revive my dead blog, though I am not sure hw many people will actually notice. But well, the point of a blog ain't exactly for people to read right?

One of the main reasons why I decided to post again is really because of the influence from my dad. I think that we don't express or share our ideas often enough, such that we limit the development of our minds. I am glad my that classmates, especially John and Sundheep, share interesting points of views that often challenge conventional thinking. For example, how Sundheep would fight for the rights of rich people when it is much more popular to fight on the side of the poor. And John, he is always questioning the rationale behind why we do things. I think the girls in my class can attest to that.

I don't know how much people actually care about the other things that happen in life, other than just about academics and the people that matter to them. Like how many people care deeply enough about class unity, school spirit and even patriotism that they would strive to make an impact, to change things for the better. A case in point is really my class, of which around half are foreigners. I am sure any socially aware classmate of mine can feel the gulf between them and us, the locals. But who has stepped up to take concrete action to integrate them with our social groups? I can remember myself trying to do that once, during the class chalet, where I had asked some of the foreigners to come help barbecue instead of just sitting around in their own groups.

That is definitely not sufficient, and I admit that I have not done enough too. My father actually suggested that someone should actually take up the role of the leader of the group of locals in our class and work together closely with the leader of the group of foreigners so that our groups can be more closely bonded. This would be way better than the few discrete efforts that we would have put up, but I doubt we have the motivation to make it work.

On the other hand, if someone whom we all respect recognises and takes on this problem seriously, there might be a chance that we would become more bonded as a class. The one person that I am thinking of is our mentor. I disagree with some of his actions because they show that he either doesn't bother to include the foreigners more, or he doesn't have the vision to create a more united class. When he was pleading with our class to buy tickets for the combined performing arts concert, he only arrowed at the Singaporeans, sparing the foreigners the guilt trip that we were put through. Won't this reinforce the idea that the foreigners don't need to care about school life or class unity?

But that is not to say that my mentor isn't a good and nice person. In fact, I really appreciate how he has handled our testimonials and personal statements. In expecting to develop leaders and thinkers however, exemplary role models must exist. Role models with a strong sense of justice, who display their idealism and personality vividly, will inspire many students to strive to emulate them. Being surrounded by people who are just decent, people who lack ambitions and ideas, will only influence us to be good, but not great, people. Now in integrating the foreigners with the rest of our class, who is our role model?

Some might deride me, saying that if I can think of all this, why don't I do it myself? I frequently find that in this kind of situations, I need to be enabled somehow, mostly by people agreeing and supporting me. It's really far from the ideal case where one steps up for whatever he believes in, but I guess that I am just not daring enough (yet). I wonder what the rest of my classmates think about this issue, but then again we are going to have our second last day as a class tomorrow.

Recently I was just looking through my gmail (which I hadn't in a long time) and found something really interesting and meaningful which my sister had sent to me. This might be a really dead blog but well, just in case I forget about the article I can always refer to it here!

Life and How to Survive It

I must say thank you to the faculty and staff of the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information for inviting me to give your convocation address. It's a wonderful honour and a privilege for me to speak here for ten minutes without fear of contradiction, defamation or retaliation. I say this as a Singaporean and more so as a husband.

My wife is a wonderful person and perfect in every way except one. She is the editor of a magazine. She corrects people for a living. She has honed her expert skills over a quarter of a century, mostly by practising at home during conversations between her and me.

On the other hand, I am a litigator. Essentially, I spend my day telling people how wrong they are. I make my living being disagreeable.

Nevertheless, there is perfect harmony in our matrimonial home. That is because when an editor and a litigator have an argument, the one who triumphs is always the wife.

And so I want to start by giving one piece of advice to the men: when you've already won her heart, you don't need to win every argument.

Marriage is considered one milestone of life. Some of you may already be married. Some of you may never be married. Some of you will be married. Some of you will enjoy the experience so much, you will be married many, many times. Good for you.

The next big milestone in your life is today: your graduation. The end of education. You're done learning.

You've probably been told the big lie that "Learning is a lifelong process" and that therefore you will continue studying and taking masters' degrees and doctorates and professorships and so on. You know the sort of people who tell you that? Teachers. Don't you think there is some measure of conflict of interest? They are in the business of learning, after all. Where would they be without you? They need you to be repeat customers.

The good news is that they're wrong.

The bad news is that you don't need further education because your entire life is over. It is gone. That may come as a shock to some of you. You're in your teens or early twenties. People may tell you that you will live to be 70, 80, 90 years old. That is your life expectancy.

I love that term: life expectancy. We all understand the term to mean the average life span of a group of people. But I'm here to talk about a bigger idea, which is what you expect from your life.

You may be very happy to know that Singapore is currently ranked as the country with the third highest life expectancy. We are behind Andorra and Japan, and tied with San Marino. It seems quite clear why people in those countries, and ours, live so long. We share one thing in common: our football teams are all hopeless. There's very little danger of any of our citizens having their pulses raised by watching us play in the World Cup. Spectators are more likely to be lulled into a gentle and restful nap.

Singaporeans have a life expectancy of 81.8 years. Singapore men live to an average of 79.21 years, while Singapore women live more than five years longer, probably to take into account the additional time they need to spend in the bathroom.

So here you are, in your twenties, thinking that you'll have another 40 years to go. Four decades in which to live long and prosper.

Bad news. Read the papers. There are people dropping dead when they're 50, 40, 30 years old. Or quite possibly just after finishing their convocation. They would be very disappointed that they didn't meet their life expectancy.

I'm here to tell you this. Forget about your life expectancy.

After all, it's calculated based on an average. And you never, ever want to expect being average.

Revisit those expectations. You might be looking forward to working, falling in love, marrying, raising a family. You are told that, as graduates, you should expect to find a job paying so much, where your hours are so much, where your responsibilities are so much.

That is what is expected of you. And if you live up to it, it will be an awful waste.

If you expect that, you will be limiting yourself. You will be living your life according to boundaries set by average people. I have nothing against average people. But no one should aspire to be them. And you don't need years of education by the best minds in Singapore to prepare you to be average.

What you should prepare for is mess. Life's a mess. You are not entitled to expect anything from it. Life is not fair. Everything does not balance out in the end. Life happens, and you have no control over it. Good and bad things happen to you day by day, hour by hour, moment by moment. Your degree is a poor armour against fate.

Don't expect anything. Erase all life expectancies. Just live. Your life is over as of today. At this point in time, you have grown as tall as you will ever be, you are physically the fittest you will ever be in your entire life and you are probably looking the best that you will ever look. This is as good as it gets. It is all downhill from here. Or up. No one knows.

What does this mean for you? It is good that your life is over.

Since your life is over, you are free. Let me tell you the many wonderful things that you can do when you are free.

The most important is this: do not work.

Work is anything that you are compelled to do. By its very nature, it is undesirable.

Work kills. The Japanese have a term "Karoshi", which means death from overwork. That's the most dramatic form of how work can kill. But it can also kill you in more subtle ways. If you work, then day by day, bit by bit, your soul is chipped away, disintegrating until there's nothing left. A rock has been ground into sand and dust.

There's a common misconception that work is necessary. You will meet people working at miserable jobs. They tell you they are "making a living". No, they're not. They're dying, frittering away their fast-extinguishing lives doing things which are, at best, meaningless and, at worst, harmful.

People will tell you that work ennobles you, that work lends you a certain dignity. Work makes you free. The slogan "Arbeit macht frei" was placed at the entrances to a number of Nazi concentration camps. Utter nonsense.

Do not waste the vast majority of your life doing something you hate so that you can spend the small remainder sliver of your life in modest comfort. You may never reach that end anyway.

Resist the temptation to get a job. Instead, play. Find something you enjoy doing. Do it. Over and over again. You will become good at it for two reasons: you like it, and you do it often. Soon, that will have value in itself.

I like arguing, and I love language. So, I became a litigator. I enjoy it and I would do it for free. If I didn't do that, I would've been in some other type of work that still involved writing fiction – probably a sports journalist.

So what should you do? You will find your own niche. I don't imagine you will need to look very hard. By this time in your life, you will have a very good idea of what you will want to do. In fact, I'll go further and say the ideal situation would be that you will not be able to stop yourself pursuing your passions. By this time you should know what your obsessions are. If you enjoy showing off your knowledge and feeling superior, you might become a teacher.

Find that pursuit that will energise you, consume you, become an obsession. Each day, you must rise with a restless enthusiasm. If you don't, you are working.

Most of you will end up in activities which involve communication. To those of you I have a second message: be wary of the truth. I'm not asking you to speak it, or write it, for there are times when it is dangerous or impossible to do those things. The truth has a great capacity to offend and injure, and you will find that the closer you are to someone, the more care you must take to disguise or even conceal the truth. Often, there is great virtue in being evasive, or equivocating. There is also great skill. Any child can blurt out the truth, without thought to the consequences. It takes great maturity to appreciate the value of silence.

In order to be wary of the truth, you must first know it. That requires great frankness to yourself. Never fool the person in the mirror.

I have told you that your life is over, that you should not work, and that you should avoid telling the truthr. I now say this to you: be hated.

It's not as easy as it sounds. Do you know anyone who hates you? Yet every great figure who has contributed to the human race has been hated, not just by one person, but often by a great many. That hatred is so strong it has caused those great figures to be shunned, abused, murdered and in one famous instance, nailed to a cross.

One does not have to be evil to be hated. In fact, it's often the case that one is hated precisely because one is trying to do right by one's own convictions. It is far too easy to be liked, one merely has to be accommodating and hold no strong convictions. Then one will gravitate towards the centre and settle into the average. That cannot be your role. There are a great many bad people in the world, and if you are not offending them, you must be bad yourself. Popularity is a sure sign that you are doing something wrong.

The other side of the coin is this: fall in love.

I didn't say "be loved". That requires too much compromise. If one changes one's looks, personality and values, one can be loved by anyone.

Rather, I exhort you to love another human being. It may seem odd for me to tell you this. You may expect it to happen naturally, without deliberation. That is false. Modern society is anti-love. We've taken a microscope to everyone to bring out their flaws and shortcomings. It far easier to find a reason not to love someone, than otherwise. Rejection requires only one reason. Love requires complete acceptance. It is hard work – the only kind of work that I find palatable.

Loving someone has great benefits. There is admiration, learning, attraction and something which, for the want of a better word, we call happiness. In loving someone, we become inspired to better ourselves in every way. We learn the truth worthlessness of material things. We celebrate being human. Loving is good for the soul.

Loving someone is therefore very important, and it is also important to choose the right person. Despite popular culture, love doesn't happen by chance, at first sight, across a crowded dance floor. It grows slowly, sinking roots first before branching and blossoming. It is not a silly weed, but a mighty tree that weathers every storm.

You will find, that when you have someone to love, that the face is less important than the brain, and the body is less important than the heart.

You will also find that it is no great tragedy if your love is not reciprocated. You are not doing it to be loved back. Its value is to inspire you.

Finally, you will find that there is no half-measure when it comes to loving someone. You either don't, or you do with every cell in your body, completely and utterly, without reservation or apology. It consumes you, and you are reborn, all the better for it.

Don't work. Avoid telling the truth. Be hated. Love someone.

You're going to have a busy life. Thank goodness there's no life expectancy.

By Adrian Tan

Hope you guys found it meaningful too!

Hah! I'm back after a long hiatus! Well, the main reason why I'm posting right now is that I'm super relived that I have just survived 2 5 days 4 nights camps, one being OBS and the other being the super xiong NPC ( National Patrol Camp). Wasn't really too simple surviving both of them- there were times where I felt really desparate for the camps to end- but I'm gald I went for both camps.

First, I was in OBS group 1, and I really did not expect it to be as fun as it turned out to be, cause most of my closer friends were in group 2, but hell, it sure was fun! All the trekking, kayaking and rock climbing really bonded people together. One word which would describe anyone who survived OBS was perseverence, cause if one was not determined, he or she would be the first to drop their bags and refuse to do anything. I was really gald that none of us in the watch gave up or anything, cause that would simply mean that the others in the watch had more to do! Well, I am not going to talk about OBS in detail as it has been a really long time since I went for it.

Now for NPC, I was not really looking forward to this camp, cause I had the tiring OBS before it, and I was not sure whether we were going there to compete or to disgrace ourselves. Let me talk a little about our team first. We basically had 4 year 1s, 1 year 2, 2 year 3s and 1 year 4, so it was a pretty inexperienced team. We did as much as we could to train the year 1s in all the knots etc, but there was only so much that we could train them. Some were also not really willing to go for the camp and kept complaining, which brought morale to dangerously low levels at times. But still, the training really helped, and together with all the support from other scouts and our scout leaders in training and logistics, we made it through the NPC.

For one, I did not expect our campsite to be as good as it turned out to be. It was cozy and had all that we needed, including a basin so we need not head to the toilet just to wash our hands before dinner etc. Our structures were all quite stable and above my expectations. Our kitchen shed helped shelter us from rain or shine. One stupid thing was that we did not know that the tap water was drinkable, so we kept boiling water to drink. Our camp cook was Zhang Yao, who helped us notch the best camp cook in the whole camp!

Our pioneering structure was the one I was the most worried about. In comparison to others, it was kinda small and not really complicated. Initially it was just a frame to hold up a game board, but through some improvision we managed to make the structure look nicer, but still it was not really good. If anything would cause us to lose some awards, it would be this.

So came the campfire which we would know how well we fared for the camp. We watched all the skits from the different schools and those particularly memorable were from Catholic High(Scout man!) and ACSI (Poem/Rap). After all the skits and songs, it was time for the award presentation. Through all the hard work of the scouts and scout leaders as well as the kind weather (it did not really rain) we achieved what we set out for- a sliver award! We were already delirous about getting a sliver award, but as if to add the icing on top of the cake(a really huge icing), we got the best newcomer patrol for the camp! Say hi to a brand new Wenger Swiss Army Knife!

This has certainly been a meaningful few weeks for me. Although I was totally worn out (slept from 11 plus at night to 3 in the afternoon), I'm really gald I've been through the highs and lows of each camp. Those few days would certainly hold a special place in my heart for I have really learnt alot! Thanks to all those who have gone to the camps with me and made them memorable!

Hi all, i shall revive my blog for a short quiz, cause I just had to find out what the quiz questions were... I think I might have been conned, conned by the most crafty person I have ever met in blogging again today.... :O hahahaha. Aiya it was debra to whom I made a promise to mention in a blog post if I ever did blog, and I made a serious mistake yesterday by blogging again! Ah nevermind, well she asked me to mention something positive about her, and I know I'm kinda defeating the purpose by mentioning that she asked me to do that, but well, :D. Overall, debra is kinda of a nice girl la, nice to talk to her about stupid stuff and bitch about some stupid stuff too. Well she used to be the one I always asked about homework but now since we're different class now I cant do that anymore. I remember there was once me and chong were like doing jobweek in her estate and we wanted to rest a little while and wait for the rain to stop. Well, we then smsed her and she didn't want to let us in at first. Well after that she was nice enough to let us go in then somemore give us some food and drinks. Her maid cooked some noodles for us and I must say that I'm thankful. Well we left after that and a while more we needed to use a toilet.. so guess what, it was damn awkward but when nature calls, you gotta do what a man's gotta do. So I guess it was really nice of her to let us in and all that stuff. A really belated thanks!

Muahahaha! I'm back! All the way from October last year :) Alamak sometimes I wonder how people can manage to update their blogs almost everyday without fail. For me its like impossible la, I write one post and then feel sian after that and stop writing. Well anyway, the past few months have been quite good. All those fun people in my class made lessons, you've guessed it, fun. Well, learnt windsurfing from around Jan to Feb and took the level one test in March. Windsurfing was really fun, but its a pity that I've little time for windsurfing. It was quite tough learning windsurfing, the backaches resulting from pulling the sail up and all that stuff, but can you imagine theres up to level 4 or 7 for windsurfing?!?! I watched some videos on youtube showing the real pros in windsurfing, and they really are AMAZING! Go watch them ;) They do gay gay gay stuff like flipping around etc etc.

Well my class has been fun from chem to physics except....( you know what la, I can't say what subjects they are!) My class ar.. can be said to be super diversed, got guai lan people :O and fun people la. The rest, is damn difficult to describe in words, like you have to experience it to know it ;)

Lol! Just a look at my dashboard tells me I hadn't updated since the 9th of September! Today and yesterday were just doing scouts activties. Well, not really just activities but actually a short weekend camp. I just have to say that peck yong and chong wei did quite a good job planning and organsising the camp! I slacked alot for the first day cause the rest of the scouts were clearing their tests. We also had cook 2 where we had to set our own fires and cook our pathetic lunch lol. Lunch consisted of: bread ( DIY), roots(potato etc), and eggs lol. And that is if you don't chao da them. I did my cooking with ronald, and we did really well! we just screwed up our sweet potatoes, but..... our bread was one of the best sia! It was like golden brown lor! the best self made bread I have ever seen ;) At night, we had some war game, very much like catching, in NUSHS. That was really fun la! We were like running around school and hiding from the catchers. I only got caught once! It was really really tiring, can help you train 2.4km sia! The next day(today) was ok too. We had some games where we had to likedunk our head inside a pail of water and try to bite off the apple, and spin 20 rounds a pole, as well as to find a sweet using your mouth in flour. Fun eh? Well, we did what scouts do best after that, learn knots lol. We had a test on knots after that, and we all passed lol. After that was footdrill which we are all rusty in. it was really horrid doing footdrill lol. home sweet home after that!

Well, the other days in this week were quite rushed too. Monday I had my english speech, which i think i should do quite ok in. Thursday everyone was chionging geog, including my group, aik ann and i slept at 2am! I'm really happy with the report, after putting so much effort into it. Friday after soccer training I had to record my english speech. Lol. I screwed it up quite badly, ms sim said I looked stressed. Of course la! Slept at 2 the night before lor! and my spects kept dropping too lol. hope ms sim dun show to other classes lol, if not.....

Anw ciao!

Yo.. long time since i posted, around one month I guess. Well, the main event that have been up are basically the christmas island trip and the campfire. I'm gonna write a little on the christmas island trip first.

The first day we set foot there, I almost got owned, lol. Cause my passport was expired in the system but had a extension stamp. I sat in the immigration office la! look like some illegal immigrant like that sia la. Somehow, that reminded me of rush hour 3 ;) After that we got to our hotel which was really clean and nice. The activities we did on the island were really interesting and we learnt alot of bio stuff. We, i.e. randy xuan hao paul lian han etc, talked alot of crap. We tried to sing songs on the bus but then the other people super unenthu one never sing with us... whats more, when they sung, they sung something like phamtom of the opera. and of course, siaw young owned them all with his... wide vocal range. Well, when we left I was kinda sad cause it had been such a nice trip in a nice little island. I reconmend you guys to go there next year, but don't ever go on your own unless you really love nature or something and want to spend your week snorkling. Cause theres nothing else other than nature there! (theres a bilabong shop though)

Ahhh now the campfire. We spent lots of time planning for this. And I was some personal assistant. Not saying that was not important, but i felt I wanted to do something else too... So I ended up being the emcce.... at first i was like... sheez... but well after all the rehearsals and work, we had quite alot of fun. Fun as it was, we stayed back really late in the night to prepare for the campfire on friday. something like 2 am and we slept in new town. Now... that ain't really nice cause i didn have a sleeping bag, it rained like siao, it was super cold, and we all slept on tables which were all shaky. What do ya expect, it was difficult to sleep so we had little difficulty in waking up at 7 plus. The actual campfire day we did much more rehearsals and the new town scout teacher added much more life into our script... and did i mention he gave us singing classes.. LOL! It was really quite weird to be rehearsing without audience cause a campfire needs audience. So you would see you weird people trying to be enthu and trying to pull air out to dance with them during the rehearsals. The actual campfire was fun and passed by quickly for all of us emcces, though i think we made a mistake once, though no one noticed. Good job guys! Cleaning up was quite fun too, cause we were like super fast and pulled down everything in about 2 hours. That day, we slept at nushs, so it was not as bad, and I could share a sleepin bag. Today, we did somemore clean up and had a debriefing, though i think that I was less than half full attention cause i was really tired. Went for the leaders debriefing, otherwise known as lucnh, to take down minutes lol. Now I'm just super tired out mentally and trying really hard to do homework, though i cant really concentrate. Well anyway, good job to all everyone that helped in this campfire in one way or another, and especially to my co-emcces Theeban, Wei Feng and Tommy!

Lol I've been ignoring my blog for like since july 14th... Gahh must be the stuff we have to do, not homework but other stuff.. i'm lucky i'm not in council or running for council, if not I would be even more jiak lak. Well, if you look at whos running for council, some of them joker sia, how did they ever get in there la! If they ever get in our school is gonna get even more badly screwed up. Ah well, shouldn't fret over the council, not like its screwing me or anyone not in council that much.

Marching today was ok la, not that I expected it to be uber hard. We are like marching onto the field and then back onto the track for another 100m. not too difficult I guess. The cool thing i like about parades is that you're marching with the drums, much better than listening to someone timing. I hate wearing beret la, its unseasoned and looks quite weird, especially if you're someone like me who doesn't know how to wear one in the proper way. Ah well, the ncc guy was better today, actually he wasn't that bad, he was trying his best already. But still... he commands a little too softly at times. Yew chun actually said that we should be the one conducting the parade next year la. That's quite scary.. later we turn out to be even worse than ncc lol. Anyway, the SLs march better than expected,I guess, just that at times they get a few commands wrongly. but hey, we took more than a year and still could not perfect marching lol.

Ah well, I sold 10 donation booklets! Though I bought some of them myself. It was much better than last year, where I sold probably less than a booklet lol. I think our scout troop at NUSHS is dam lucky to be in 23 Eagles la, cause they are more well established and pass down their expertise to us. Under them I think I have improved myself tremendously, for example in skills like knots and setting up fires. i gained lots of experience from just this one year of scouting, probably more than I was a cub scout or last year. My cub scout life was utterly boring, we did nothing much except footdrill. Well, I don't regret joining cub scouts though, if I did not I would not end up in scouts today.

On the way back today, I was feeling a little emo lol.. surprising eh? yea I'm quite surprised myself too, it was the first time I ever really felt a little jealous. Well anyway, I better get to doing homework soon, soccer competition tmr! wish me good luck :) Ciao!

Time sure pasts real fast, especially with all those homework piling up waiting for me to touch them. Ah well, on the way back from scouts today i was thinking about a phrase I recently encounted "do what is right, because it is right"Hmmm.. I asked myself, whether one should forsake his or her "popularity" with his or her friends and do the "right" thing, or just do the "wrong" things with your friends just so that you would not lose their favour. Sometimes, I find myself stuck in that situation too, I'm sure most of us would have. It's like being caught in the worst dilema you would ever have and you have to make that split second decision. I try my best to do the right thing, but it's a nightmare thinking about the reprecussions you would face with your friends. One of the worst things that can ever happen is that when someone does a "wrong" thing, you just tag along, never one telling them, " Hey guys, I think what we're doing is wrong, we shoulden't be doing it." Some might blame others for instigating them to do the "wrong" things, but well, you have a choice whether or not to be doing the "wrong" things. For me, personally, I don't really blame anyone, whether friends or just anyone, for instigating me into doing "wrong" things, because I myself made the decision, not them, not anyone else.

Anyway.... Presenting John Mayer... and his lyrics ;)

Slow Dancing In A Burning Room
It's not a silly little moment
It's not the storm before the calm
This is the deep and dyin breath of this love we've been workin on
Can't seem to hold you like I want to so I can feel you in my arms
Nobody's gonna come and save you we pulled too many false alarms
We're goin down and you can see it too
We're goin down and you know that we're doomed
my dear we're slow dancing in a burnin room
I was the one you always dreamed of you were the one
i tried to draw how dare you say it's nothin to me baby, you're the only light I ever saw
I make the most of all the sadness
you'll be a bitch because you can
you try to hit me just to hurt me so you leave me feelin dirty cuz you can't understand
We're goin down and you can see it too
We're goin down and you know that we're doomed
my dear we're slow dancing in a burnin room
Go cry about it why don't you
Go cry about it why don't you Go cry about it why don't you my dear,
we're slow dancin in a burnin room
burnin room, burnin room
don't you think we oughta know by now
don't you think we shoulda learned somehow don't you think
we oughta know by now
don't you think we shoulda learned somehow
don't you think we oughta know by now
don't you think we shoulda learned somehow
don't you think we shoulda learned somehow
don't you think we shoulda learned somehow
don't you think we shoulda learned somehow
don't you think we shoulda learned somehow

And the dl link for thy song, for previewin' only, support him if you like him!
http://www.mydatabus.com/public/saymyname/08john_mayerslow_dancing_in_a_burning_room.mp3

Lol it has been REALLY long since i last posted, around a week or so. Today was quite slack for pe, cause it was like a few warm ups then we started running. Aik ann kept me running for my life lol so I ended up with a not-bad timing. The rest of the session was spent doing burpees and some other stuff. Lucky we ran a little earlier, cause the sun came up once we stopped running. I hope I don't have to do scout duties during the cross country so i get a hand at running with my mates. Well for sports day I actually thought i could run for the 100m event, but well I realised I was not that good at all so I switched over to the 800m event, hope I can get first or second in that event. I'm also running the 4 times 400 relay and maybe the 100m relay too. Wow, my sports day really looks clogged up with me running event. Last year I got a gold and a silver, hope I can beat that.

I guess I'm already into the habit.. of sleeping a little... just a little in class, especially physical geog class. I thought it would be interesting, and I kept telling myself it was interesting, but oh well, I ended up taking short naps of 30 seconds each time and luckily the teacher didn't catch me sleeping away! Oh ya debra has the darn smelly deodorant which she sprays on every guy she sees...yucks! Just ask anyone in our class, i bet they hate that smell too, and its supposed to be some fruit flavour! EEEEEE!!!

Ahmed sure had alot of fun today lol. Fristly, he saw cheryl chong slapping debra's ass. I bet he got horny over that. And after school when we played soccer sheng sheng was like slapping ahmed with a slipper. Guess what ahmed had to do. He took the slipper and.....*drumroll!* stuck it into his underwear! Yucks! Can you imagine if that were your slipper would you ever want to touch it again?! When it was revealed not to be sheng's slippers, ahmed was like dam shocked and we laughed like siao, especially at his reaction.

Guess whose slipper that was, I mean who would wear slippers to school? Guess... its a girl ;)

Yo long time since I've last posted! The last weekend has been a event filled one, and I just had to worry about homework lol! Well on saturday we scouts went for some National Scouts Sailing Regatta. It was pretty tiring cause we sailed from 10 to 6 straight under the sun, and there was no lunch provided! Now my butt hurts and there is a really obvious tanline. Gosh, but it sure was fun though it could be a little frustrating at times. The first race we started most of us didn't start at all. For those who know a little about the sea, it was basically because the current was going the opposite direction as the direction we were supposed to sail, and there was little or no wind. So we just ended up drifting backwards and did not start the first race. Luckily for us the wind picked up for the rest of the races though it was still light. It was really frustrating to round the upwind mark cause of the current again. I remembered I was like almost giving up rounding the upwind mark in the last race cause I had been stuck there for 20 minutes or so. But lady luck was somehow with me, and I rounded the upwind mark and raced as the wind picked up to my last mark and finish line. I had thought I was going to be last but well, randy and jensen met into some problems cause of the other sailors who had banged into randy... But well anyway, nushs got 3rd for group placing and I got 4th for individual placing! Well, we really worked hard during the regatta so I think we deserve it!
This was one of my busiest weekends cause immediately on the next day there was some cub scout sixer camp. We were going there to help out. Initially I was like, "oh sheez, so many things to do during this weekend" But well, it turned out ok for this camp. We had quite alot of "power" as you would call it, and during morning inespection, we could actually ask them to repack and unpack their stuff again and again, but we didn have the time. We also had like unlimited supply of food, i.e. we could just take the food that they had. Of course we were considerate la, didn't take the whole thing. We helped out quite a bit too, but not that much that would tire us out too much. We even had time to take a nap! And did I mention that we were sleeping on BEDs. Can you believe it, sleeping on beds during camps! Well, they were sponge beds, but we were still really comfy. Outdoor cooking was as usual fun and the campfire was quite ok too, except that you don't expect primary school children to be too enthu about these stuffs. After the campfire we helped clear up and then slacked ;) We were teasing chong all the way and it was quite funny. Ah, we also had no lights out! Fun sia at night. But well, I guess I was quite tired so as usual, I was the first one to sleep:) The next day was just area cleaning and we played taiti to pass time. We initially wanted to go vivo to watch transformers, but then we all backed out later. So overall, it was quite a slack camp, but as said by chong wei, service scouts in camps usually slack quite alot, and true, there were other ex-henry park service scouts helping out in the henry park camp who even had time to play soccer!

Yo I think I slacked quite a fair bit this week. Well its the first week of school anyway! However, I think I could had done more to help out in youth day though, but I was like quite confused over what was happening cause I missed out one important week of planning etc thanks to helping out in some regatta. I remember myself standing around in the temporary PSL room asking people what to do and happening lol. Come to think of it maybe the PSLs should had sent emails on progress or something like that, though they have a forum but thats more like to facilitate discussion. So sometimes while reading the forum I get a little lost on what's really happening. Ah well, youth day could have been better too in my opinion. One thing was that the carnival was a little too short, 3 hours is not really enough. Another point is that the stores were too widely spread. One might say that this helps to prevent overcrowding.. but since like a quarter of the school in involved in stalls, what crowd is there to expect! Well anyway jiayou for next year!
This weekend's gonna be real hectic. Tomorrow is the scout regatta, i.e. sailing competition, which had been postponed from late May. There are only like... 8 participants I think, and they're giving out awards from 1st-8th. Wow. But I'm really sure this is gonna be really tiring, cause there is gonna be 3-4 races, and i dun think we got many scouts to help us out in the "physical" stuff. We most probably have to go back to shore sometime because of the wind dying down or something. Gosh.... and the next day would be another camp... Must go to some ulu Sembawang park to camp with some primary school scouts. I'm gonna like teach them stuff etc, so its gonna be quite cool. Sad thing is the camp lasts all the way into youth day itself, around 1 pm then we're released, at Henry Park somemore... Well, now I dunno whether I should go for the PSL outing, cause its like I still have to chiong homework..=/
I had better get back to chiong homework instead of bloggin'! Ciao

Hm.... First day of the new semester was not that particularly impressive.. The few notable things were maybe is that chem became one hour instead of two hours, and that I changed place with gerlynn, meaning that i'm now seating with stuart. Well that is quite a good thing for me cause i was getting quite bored at my previous seating, and stuart is someone i know more, so its kinda easier to talk to him.
No offense to anyone, but don't you guys realise the way our geog teacher speaks is a little high pitched? and of course it turns out mildly irritating too. I believe that she can teach quite well though, or I hope so.
I hope the construction workers working on the scouts store below the grandstand don't sweep the place, cause our group just hung our IS thingo round a broom lol. Most prob tomorrow i'll bring some sticky tape and... stick it up :)
Oh ya... now the most memorable part of the day was during english when we were like making up mostly bullsh*t stories about our names, and ahmed saddique was one of the main highlights for that part.. We did many things which would improve our leadership skills but unfortunately (or maybe fortunately for some people) because of the rain we did not have footdrill. The rain was especially heavy during the 2nd and 3rd day of the camp, and alot of programmes were shifted.

On the first day of the camp, we were hiking from New Town secondary to Pulau Ubin! Imagine the distance: 40km +++! Well we first hiked around dover area, and everyone was already starting to get a little tired. But well we still strove on and reached buonea vista mrt. Heng sia... we could take mrt to cover more than half the distance, all the way to tampines! After that i took over navigational duties, i.e. i was leading my patrol around tampines. I had to bring them to some ulu part of tampines which i had totally no idea about and they were like blaming me for getting them lost... I got a bit frustrated with them but still, I tyco-ed and led them to the right place. I must sorta thank zhang yao with supporting me through this period, he was one of the few in my patrol who did not blame me whatsoever. Well, we ran out of time once we reached some part of loyang, one or two bus stops after the flyover and took a bus. Along the way we met many patrols still hiking around and we were like laughing at them, just for the jest of it. We took a bumpboat from changi point to Pulau Ubin and started hiking from there to Nordin beach. Wow, for those of you who don't know, Nordin beach was right at the northern part of Ubin and we were at the south. Well, we hiked on but were totally tired out by that time. They even gave us a tent to carry "for fun"! Wah biang! It was really tiring to carry the tent and we kept pushing the job around. Once we reached nordin beach, we set up our bashas and had dinner. Dinner was totally disgusting... maybe you would call it a protein fest.. but there was seriously ALOT of insects jumping into our boiling water which was to cook our noodles. Only around 4 people got properly cooked noodles, and the rest survived on delicious mamee like dry noodles with seasoning. The night was filled with people in kelongs trying to sing techno music.. Can you imagine how horrible that was!? It was even worse than the chalet next door during the class chalet. We of course, had little sleep in peace.

The next day we just hiked back out to take the bumpboat back to Changi Point and had a good breakfest at the hawker centre there. I had carrot cake and warm soya bean. It was really shiok after the day before. We rested a while, discussed the campfire item and then took a bus back. the bus trip was one of the best parts sia, everyone just knocked out for about 40 minutes. When we arrived back at NTSS we had a re-vitalisation period. Thank Twa Pek Gong for that! We were real tired and had some good sleep. We were basically late for fall in after that and kenna pumping. From then on, I think everyone got the idea and started to chiong whenever got fall in. We had some lectures in the AVA room which were quite forgettable. From what I've heard, there was supposed to be teachers instead of service scouts teaching us but the teacher got admitted to a hospital. Hope he recovers soon! Oh ya, it was on this day that I was appointed to become a patrol leader :) Lots of people from the 23 Eagle Scout Group became PLs, though we were much less in strength than ACSI. At the end of the day, it was a really good sleep for all of us.

Waking up revitalised, we had a long day ahead of us. First we had our PT then breakfast, then morning inspection then another lecture. When the patrol leaders were reporting strength during the lectureeveryone was making alot of noise and so they kenna pumping. Well, funnily enough, the instructor didn't ask the PLs to pump along. After lunch was telematch. It was really fun especially the part where we all had to turn around a pole 20 times. Everyone was like dizzy like siao and walking in the wrong direction and even falling down! Even the leaders were laughing like siao, well of course they didn't participate. the rest of the telematches were quite fun too. After that was skill games. My patrol did quite well in this, we set quite a bit of records here and there. After all these fun was dinner, which was really good for a camp considering there were 5 different items which you could eat! The food had been not bad in the past few days too. At night our campfire which was pretty good, but not the best. Some of the events were cut short because of the time limits so it was less... enjoyable. Sleep was as usual, welcomed. However, it was not all that peaceful. We had a total of 4 fire drills including one false burglar alarm! Wah it was quite annoying to keep running up and down, and they were like in the middle of the night! After the last drill at 3 plus in the morning, we had our peace to sleep.

Most people looked forward to this day, because it was the day we could go home. Some of them alreasy started to count down from the day before! The closing ceremony was pretty long, because they had to call out everyone one by one to collect their certificates. on a side note, it was lucky that we only had 80 plus people in the camp. For me it was quite a sad day to leave so many new friends so quickly, and I don't even have their numbers. We had been through thick and thin together for the past 4 days and we still survived. Well, that ends it all for my experience, and I hope to see my patrol some time later, whether is it in scouting or in everyday life!

Ain't this a beauty? Its a great new laptop.... 2GHz Core 2 Duo... 2GB RAM(upgraded from 1GB) and 120GB of hard disk space! Well.. No more worries about my laptop running out of space then! And my dad got a real good discount of around 400 dollars for this laptop! I just love my dad!(Well, for those of you thinking how mercenery i might look...even if dad didn't buy this laptop for me I would still love my parents to the core!) Happy belated father's day to my dad as well!

Anw, I just came back from PLTC, if i ever gonna post about it, its probably tomorrow.

LOL I must come to announce that the soccer team got into the last 16 of some national street soccer competition prelimary round! Considering that there were 40 teams participating and how pro most of the people were (they were mostly malays you see....) that was an acheivement! (yar right... the truth behind our top 16 position is.....) Well anyway that was on sunday. I went straight to my cuz's house after that in my stiny clothes.. I brought my shirt pants but no....you know what. so i could not really bathe.. I just changed out of my shirt and thats it.yucks. well we sorta had fun on the com listening to youtube and different songs. Didn't know my cousins liked heavy metal lol... its like one of the not that nice genres of music with bloody loud sounds which you cannot decipher. Well, its not as bad as rap ;) (save for a few songs) ah.. I forgot to mention that it was my grandma's bdae, there were lots of food and sharkfin! Well, no offense to anyone of my cousins or aunty or uncle.. but the sharkfin's kinda like.. fake? (who eats real sharkfin nowadays? So ex) Dinner was served at 5 plus and I had my lunch at 2... So sway right.. i was certainly in no mood for eating anything. When I reached home I was dead hungry. My mum was kinda mad at me for not eating anything at my uncle's place but well, I just cooked instant noodles and that was it.

Today we had some soccer match arranged by lian han against VS C division( in case you dunno... its Victoria School)... It was real awkward to be playing against people half to 3 quarters your height and they still owned us. We lost something like 2-1.. Not that bad considering that they were 2nd in singapore... Not that good either cause we were like A,B,C division against C div lol.. This match was not really a great match for me.. I made quite alot of blunders (sorry!) one of which led to one of their goals :( Oh ya our only goal was scored by shengsheng... but that was only when cai yue starting playing striker and owning the defense with his size.. It was not a particularly tiring match for me though.. probably because i play as a defender and i just wait for the ball lol.. Anyway... right after that I went for some PSL meeting..I was sweating like crazy and brought a change.. but guess what, I didn't change at all lol cause i was too....lazy. PSL meeting was kinda slack cause we're only doing the pouches now which just involves threading and folding some stuff.. What a way to spend a day. Well I played a bit of basketball too with zikai and co cause I was feeling really bored after lunch... We finished around 3 o'clock and we started to play some cards.. with debra playing cards too what game other than bridge would we play.. Eugene was trying really hard to teach Jer Lin how to play bridge but I think she only understood half of what he was saying. There was once when like we were bidding Jer Lin went.. Queen of Spades, Lol! Well, shes new so its not really her fault.... ( For those of you who understand good... for those who dun.. never mind) I went home after that.. just in time to hear Mr Lee stepping into the classroom say," How come you all playing cards!" lol! Am I lucky or something.. Plenty of seats on the mrt, great for taking a nice nap :)

Yo! Hope those people who went to the chalet had one heck of a day having fun! Chalet went quite smoothly i must say, I had expected it not to run as smoothly.

Well, we all met up at tampines mall, apparently everyone managed to meet each other at macdonalds when the instruction were not very clear in my opinion. Initially we agreed to split up and find our food first, and then it ended up everyone eating at pasta mania. The food there was ok, considering me, jaryl and stuart spent only $3.80 there. After that we all went to the arcade... the daytona there was like bloody sucky la... only one was in operation. there were a group of people there initially so we waited for dam long before we could get our hands on daytona. We played some shooting game and air hockey before actually playing daytona. I tried the advanced level and got owned real badly lol.

Well, after that we decided to go bowling in safra. We had to wait darn long before we got to bowl, something like 30-45 minutes. While waiting for the lanes, me and jaryl wanted to play pool, but when the table vacated some guy just sorta snatched our turn in front of us, how smart. Well, we didn do anything to him and just went back to watching people play cards. Bowling was quite fun, just that i didn play too well in the second game... meaning that i even got owned by girls! gosh :(

Got to the chalet after that, via bus of course. Sorry jean who had waited from 2pm, when we only reached at 530. Helped to carry some stuff from cleo's dad's car to the chalet itself. Cleo and whaipeng and cleo's dad had earlier helped to buy stuff from the supermarket, thanks! Heard that they got a little lost though, maybe i should had gone with them...

Once we were settled down in the chalet, we tried to start the fire. I must surely emphasise the word "tried". Oh well, after some kind soul dripped some oil and fanned a bit the fire was like ready to go lol. Stuart was bbq-ing chicken wings which I heard was fantastic but I don't know for sure.(I don't eat chicken wings you see....) The rest was bbq-ing other stuff such as satay and fanning the fire while others basically....... slacked.. you know who you are ;) I was myself in charge of the fire but i got bored of it after a while and went inside to prepare the flour and water bombs. You guys should have seen the mess we made inside! It was like flour everywhere, and when you wanted to wash you hands, it just became dirtier.. did i mention that one of the water bombs somehow got stuck in the toilet bowl?

Well, after that we just bombed those people still bbqing outside the chalet.. apparantly stuart got quite angry and wanted to use his chicken juice on us... yucks! But oh well, I just handed gerlynn's water guns to jaryl and debra and they all started shooting and bombing each other.. then they had to use water bottles to splash water... and all of us got wet! The fire almost died in the "battle", but luckily we didn't piss anyone off....yet. Stuart and some other people cooked the remaining chicken wings and we were basically done. While waiting for my turn to bathe, jaryl, aik ann, me and chua played tai di. Stuart joined in later when chua left for her turn to bathe. I baked 4 marshmellows in the dying fire and they were like really really really sweet. Played and rewatched a little of blood diamond before going off to bathe.

People were starting to get bored of blood diamond. I thought that it was a nice movie but well they didn't so we switched movie to 300. Lol, it was quite crappy, like the blood they used was less real than tomato ketchup, and the story is quite boring too. In the middle of the movie we got scolded by the security guard but its more likely our neighbors caused it more than us... After 15 minutes those neighbours, or rather paikia since they looked like one, went out to gamble.. Bloddy hell... stuart wanted to take a pic, and they saw... and they confronted him. After that stuart just called the security and they dealt with the paikias. V for venatta was next but because the tv was soft, i could not hear anything and thus went to "nap", first for 5 minutes, then 10, then 30. lol. We watched white chicks next and it was bloody funny and gay! We went to sleep after that and it was about 5 plus liao.. Poor jaryl didnt have a place to sleep though, but he said he was not sleepy...

Woke up at round 840 plus and we started to sort leftovers out.. Kudos to Jean who helped lots in this area, actually she helped lots almost everywhere. She was like bring all the stuff to the front and asking people what they wanted to bring back.. I actually thought of helping her, but was too lazy to move my legs... No wonder jean said in her blog I was quite NATO.. well i agree with that a little.... should change my mentality then!

Next stop after checking out was escape theme park! But i'll post about that another time... if not it'll take forever to finish posting!(I already took 2 hours posting about this, while doing other stuff of course)

P.S Gosh, I really need to thank some people for making this chalet possible! Firstly... I need to thank debra for suggesting this idea and helping in the initial stages of planning.. without her this won't even happen! Next up... its whaipeng. She really helped me with the logistics and some planning too...without her, you guys won't have anything to eat! Jean also played a big part too! She travelled all the way to the east to help us book the chalet, and helped loads during the actual chalet itself, making sure that everything goes quite smoothly. Cleo helped us by getting the bbq food together with whai peng and getting her dad to help transport the food.. Without her, the food would all spoil! Lastly, I needa thank everyone for being so sporting during the chalet and contributing to the fun we all had! Thanks to everyone!

Soccer training if fun.... at least much more fun than sitting at home and growing fatter.. Initially, I was feeling fine for the first part of soccer training... Then some stupid stomach cramp or whatever had to appear right at the moment. Wah it was really quite difficult to tahan, so I went to rest. I was not feeling better until jaryl advised me to lie down. And it worked. Well, it happened last training too, so its kinda very suay.. Hope it does'nt happen next training on friday. Maybe its cause I haven been exercising for a long long time... at least not at the intensity of last year where we played soccer like everyday.. This year, its hardly once or twice every 2 to 3 months.

One thing about soccer training is that its on monday, wednesday and friday.. The best part is its from 4 to 6, which means on that day you practically can't go out at all... Coach apparently does'nt want to conduct training in the morning cause we might oversleep lol.. Maybe he does'nt have the time..

Its gonna be a busy june for me... Lots of things to do, like planning of some exploration game(scouts) which I am a bit....lost. Soccer training takes up half of the hols, together with other scouts stuff, like the patrol leader training camp... Its gonna be a packed holiday.. Hope my dad cooks up some holiday plan and maybe I can get a better rest(not that I'm stressed up or anything).

Yo... Back from the UG camp and all those other stuff. I've been real busy these few days, like on wednesday was at botanic garden then rushed back to czps to help promote nush with mr koh doing most of the talking, and then went back to nushs to do duty for the SYSF or something like that. I was like basically handling the PA for mr koh and then had 5 mins to prepare some 2 min speech for the students. Jaryl went along too. Some people would say that whenever I talk in front of people, I'm too Singlish. Well, I guess thats quite true, I'd better work on it. Maybe whenever I speak Singlish too excessively, I should get someone to remind me to mind my language. Oh ya, mr koh is nice :) He brought me back to nushs and along the way he treated me to macs! So nice right..... Well, my duty for the SYSF was food duty, which is basically doing nothing at first and when people come, you promote the food like siao. In the end we still had a whole chunk of food left uneaten.

After that I went to my dad's office and took a short nap there, around 2 hours lol. We went to Peach Garden to celebrate my dad's birthday. I heard there was a telescope there but I didn't get to try it... The food there was excellent though. It was real fun talking around with my siblings and parents. Long time since we did that. Reached home around 11 plus. I realised that I had not packed for my camp yet lol. I was rushing all my stuff and ended up sleeping around 12.

Camp was quite ok, those kind of not boring yet a little fun type of camp. I must admit there was a good effort put in by the organisers for this camp. They worked really hard and I must say I appreciate it. First day of the camp was basically setting up of the tents which we scouts finished in a whiff. The girls guides were quite slow in pitching their tent, probably because they didn know lol. Their tent was like, ancient. It had wooden pegs compared to our metal pegs and no floor mat. So it was quite pathetic. But we scouts should had gone help them. Well, never mind. lol. Dinner was after that, not that great though, what do you expect in a camp. War games which consisted of throwing water bombs was expected to last for quite a while but ended after 5 min because of lack of water bombs, so we ended up playing capture the 'fag'. We chose our 'fag', clement :) It was real rough during the game, I remember there was one SJAB guy pushing all of us away! The rules could have been better there, like if you touch an opposition he has to go back to base etc. Went to bathe and sleep after that.

Woke up at 530 the next morning and prepared for PT. PT was basically quite bullsh*t. We did some very light streching which missed alot of parts, 10 pumpings and 500m of jogging. After that went for kayaking. We were quite lucky we were going out first, cause we didn have to wash the kayak after that. I was kayaking with teck lim and our paddles went colliding lol. Lucky we didn capsize, on purpose or not on purpose. Rafting all the kayaks together was fun. Basically all the kayaks line up in one line, we hold onto each other and slack, and watch us drift too lol. After bringing our kayaks back to shore we went to slack in the water, like just float around and push randy's kayak. After washing up etc I went to take a short nap. I conveniently overslept a little, sorry guys. We went to discuss our campfire item afterwards. At first, we wanted to do some story about bananas and ghosts you find the the four different types of cemetries, i.e. Chinese, Muslim, Indian, Eurasian. Our moral of the story was apparantly racial harmony lol. But when we mentioned that we wanted a "hantu te-tek" in the story, the girl guides freaked out. Because.... go find out yourself :) After more discussion, we settled on modified fairytales featuring clement-tea as the lead actor/actress. The story was about clement-tea and his failure in love lol. Basically it was snow white, rapenzel, little red riding hood, henzel and gretel, and some story i cant remember. Yew Chun then came and gave us nice chocolate to eat.

Outdoor cooking was next. Randy was trying real hard to set up the fire but apparently we got owned by the other group of scouts lol. Yew chun saw this and was like quite disappointed with us. But ah well, after that our fire was bigger than theirs. Randy and daniel soon had to go off to prepare the campfire, so I was the most senior in my 'fire-group', so I was the one in charge of maintaining the fire. Well, I managed to maintain the fire but got no style one. I was like anyhow putting in wood into the fire to burn. At least we cooked quite a lot of food, like 7-8 packets of maggi and 2 mess tins of vegetables. We went to the campfire after cleaning up. It was quite sad, like they got not enough kerosene to start the fire. However, all was solved with the introduction of solid fuel lol. It was like the most cheapskate method but oh well, at least the fire started. The fire was real fierce at first, then it died down in like 20-25 minutes. All the while, we just sang songs and the different UGs performed. Well, shall not really go into details but I have to say that randy is dam good narrator. Most of the storyline was made up on the spot by him, which was quite amusing too. Went to sleep the earliest, as usual :D

Today, clayton, chong wei, randy, clement and me went off early, which means we miss packing up. Well, sorry guys again, but I have a legitemate reason. Went to school to take a bath. The showers in school are so much better than those at camp christine (our campsite). Its like 2 to 3 times larger and the shower was much stronger. So those camping in school should appreciate this! Well, the school had a soccer competition but I could not make it, cause of the archeaology thingo. Heard that we were not bad, so good job! While waiting for some time cause it was still too early, we got hold of lian han's phone. Just ask any soccer guys and you'll know how horny lian han is. Thanks to clayton, I dropped at sommerset when douby gaut was nearer to the National Muesum for the archeaology course. In the end I had to walk 20 minutes with a camp bag and call my dad for directions. Well, I don't exactly blame clayton, since I chose to trust him. Well, I was so sleepy that I could not really pay attention to the guy conducting the course. It was quite fun overall, though it was tiring to carry my camp bag to fort canning hill to view some exhibits and the place was darn cold.

I just went home after that via mrt. I didn get a sit so I had to carry my camp bag all the while... The moment I reached home I just took a nap. My mum woke me up at 7 to go to my aunt's house to celebrate the full month of my cousin's child, which means I'm an uncle already. Actually I was already one quite some time ago. After dinner etc went back home, gonna to sleep soon! So I guess that sums up my busy few days, and I gotta go! Ciao.

Ok guys sorry i didn reply most of the tags on the tagboard.... I just didn feel like... Well since i'm here i might as well reply to the tags... about gerlynn's comment about whether the place would have a dvd player..i'm quite stumped too. I've been trying to contact costa sands but they're out for the weekends. But anyway, whaipeng told me that janell has some sort of portable dvd player, not sure about that though... Maybe we can just use a PS2 or sth to play the dvds, we'll find a way. Anyway, I was randomly but not so randomly choosing a date for the chalet with the help of whai peng since debra was not online. I think the 14th of June would be a good date. Its on a Thursday so we enjoy the weekday rates. I think we need to quickly get this booked if not we'll have no place anymore. Then this whole thing would be postponed, which i would not like to see. So i really like to know whether you guys can make it on this date, the 14th of June, to this chalet. Please tag on my tag board or email me!

Hey! The exams are finally over! Well it was a day ago...lol. yesterday right after the exams went out to try ice skating lol. and instead of my legs hurting, it ended up with my wrist hurting..lol! Well after that had lunch all thse kind of normal things..... and then we went to the arcade.. Ahmed is a bloddy cheat lol, well i'm a little too. lol. We went to play daytona lol. The first time i played with muddy he was like trying to displace me first like going onto my poutside and pushing me onto the grass. lol instead i pushed him right into the wall lol. In the end i won by a little... the second game i played with ahmed, i was like owning him by at least half a lap.. then he took the short cut meant for pit stops=.=. then he won. what a cheat lol. no hard feelings man ahmed!

Hmm. now about 205 chalet. Guys i really need your responses, so please tell me or debra when are you all free for the chalet, and whether you all want to go in the first place. For your information, we're gonna book 2 chalets, one for boys and one for girls. Too bad for people like ahmed who was expecting a mass orgy. The expected cost for this whole thing if 15 people are going is gonna be around 25 bucks the most. Thats really the most cause we wont be spending that much anyway. Also, please be informed that its gonna be a weekday chalet, basically because its much cheaper. If you've got any objections, once again come find me.

What I really hope to see is people coming up to me and saying how they can help in the chalet planning. I'm sure there are people of this kind in our class! So come grab your opportunities now by finding me!

Jobs up for grabs include:
1. Orgainse people to buy logistics for bbq
2. Finding and renting nice movies for our proposed movie marathon

Thats all I can think of for now... so if you want to do something for the class, find me or contact me by sms, email, im or anything. Got some real promising response in my tag board just now.. So i'm assuming that we shoudl be able to go la. If we really wanna go this june, then we'll have to opt for costa sands cause the rest are fully booked. Costa sands is quite small. I mean the room. However, there should be plenty to do there, cause its at downtown east. And the price is around 200 odd for 3 day 2 night for one room.

Heres a pic of the chalet...

it has....

Twin beds with 2 pull-out beds
Towels
Fully air-conditioned
Refrigerator
Hot Water Flask
Television Set
Attached bathroom

At a rate of...

June School Holidays – Weekday Package @ Costa Sands resort (Downtown East/ Pasir Ris)
3D/2N Stay + 4 *Theme Park Tickets @ $188 Nett For Members / $209 Nett for Non-Members2D/1N Stay + 2 *Theme Park Tickets @ $99 Nett For Members / $119 Nett for Non-Members

So its really up to you guys to decide... i'll give some links of different chalets so you all might want to think about it in your free time...

http://www.aloha.gov.sg/

http://www.costasands.com.sg/

http://www.livelife.ecitizen.gov.sg/recreation/pa/hcr_PA.asp

Personally, i have fond memories of aloha chalets... but unfortunately its fully booked :( Costa sands is ok.. but its squeezy, or cozy as you might want to say lol. the Peoples Association one i'm not really sure but i think thats the place the PSLs and councillers went once.. I emphaise the word TRY. Its no wonder, with ahmed. Jaryl also came. We were sitting at macs studying and drinking expensive stuff. I didn't know one milo cost 2.20!! like wtf, i can go home make better than that and cost less. Well, we could concentrate for quite a while, i studied a little bio, chem and history. Then, we conincidentally met siaw yang, donavan at macs too. Initially siaw yang said he said hi to us, but apparantly we could not hear him lol. So we only knew when don came over and talked to us. We squeezed a little and fit into the table nicely. Then, ahmed had to start talking. Everyone ended up getting distracted and talking too. Well, it wasnt that bad, but still. Don then told us kay wee and marianne were coming too. So well, we just...planed for them to be alone at another table. Before we knew anything, we were like chased out of macs.

We then went for lunch at the foodcourt and i ate some nice noodles which jaryl introduced to me and its called....i forgot =.=. After everyone finished eating we could not decide where to go, terminal 1 or 2. Don then took out his phone, then said top is terminal 1, bottom is terminal 2. He then threw his phone on the table! lol! jaryl, ahmed and i were like wtf! but then he said his phone's dying already, oh well. So we went to the viewing gallery and study. I felt quite unconfortable studying there cause the lighting is like......dark? I just continued studying anyway. Went home earlier than the rest with ahmed. Had a nice sleep on the bus, for 15 minutes. yawn. bye.

Quiz taken from muddy's blog.

Put your player to shuffle and flip to the next song as the questions progress.

How does the world see you? Scouts had to go back to school to build the campsite. I had thought about ponning this meeting but well, i decided otherwise. Luckily my sis fetched me or i would have had to take a taxi which would cost 20 over bucks. amazing how fast the taxi meter climbs when you're not noticing lol.
I was late for the meeting, but daniel some others like chong wei were even later! Luckily yew chun not there yet or else we sure kenna. But well time to get working, the year 2s were assigned the fire pit and the dustbin(?!). We dug a hole in the field and should had known better. We got screwed quite badly by our dear estate manager. Looks like there was some miscommunications. Ah well. The dustbin i have no idea what the state of it is, probably just a cube lol. Made by ronald.
The gateway was not bad, quite a good idea, but in the end some thought it was quite screwed up. Me, clayton, chong wei, randy, zhang yao were like hammering poles into the field to create a fence.
Then, it had to rain. We all chionged into the shelter but realised we had to get our equipment back. We rushed there and back with all those stuff and ended up dripping wet. gosh. when we were at the shelter looking into the field we saw a little figure squeezing his socks, and it was shao xiong! lol! we had a good time laughing why no one had thought of escaping to the tent!
After that we had some debriefing and went for lunch at round 2. it was as usual the best time of scouts, we get to joke, poke fun at other scouts. Today it was chong wei's turn. Not gonna say much in the case which he comes finding me, but it was about him liking a girl in school. daniel forced it out of him and me and clayton just played along, saboing him lol! fyi, the girl's name was.... you'd think i really tell you. nah. its just xxxxx. if you know you know, if you don't, don't.
Went home on mrt with daniel and jun xiong, talked to them a little. discussed with daniel some stuff about what the year 4s were doing, and some of their humble opinion of something, which i should not really say in public. Since its quite sensative. the rest of my time on the mrt was spent sleeping, as usual for a person who takes the train home from west to east everyday. Plug up those headphone and gone to sleep :D.
Home now, dun feel like doing bio report, like who would feel like doing homework. but well, still gotta do it. ciao.

Time to update, I guess. Today was ok... I had this super long period of break as always on friday. Ahmed went to art class to re-do his head. lol, who asked him to fool around during art class on wednesday! it was like, only when chua came to art class then he went super crazy, throwing the knife at a pile of clay! Super dangerous, but do you think he cares? lol, maybe yea. Jaryl had the math extra lesson, aik ann was at art too, stuart was helping out with his notice board. So it was left with me alone. Boring like siao. Just went around walking and wasting my time. Soon it was chinese which as usual, i have nothing to say about. Then came lunch, another 2 hours free. I just ate lunch, and slacked around doing nothing. I wanted to play basketball with jaryl and stuart but i saw that they were already playing one on one so i left them alone. Right after that, i saw people on the field. I went down and started playing soccer with them. Poor Ash got knocked by ahmed in the nose. He was bleeding quite badly! Ahmed's fault.

Preparation for ushering was not really interesting. I waited quite eagerly to go for soccer. As you all might know, I have not been playing soccer for a really really long time, and when i stepped onto that field, it felt really good. Too bad the year 3s have different timetable from us, so we cant play soccer with them. That really explains why we have not been playing soccer since the start of this year. After that, jaryl's dad fetched me home, thanks!

Well some stuff from the past few un-updated days. On sunday, I went for a course on how to sail in a sailing regatta, i.e. a sailing competition, courtesy of scouting :D Well, that means that I'm going for a sailing regatta! That's cool. However, there are only four schools in this competition, which means it not that big la. But who cares :P

Tomorrow is also going to be a fun day. Scouts are going to SJI for some "South West Games Day". We're going to participate in a street soccer event! That is going to be fun. One downside is that it's held in the afternoon, imagine the burning heat!

Ah yes, one thing i just remembered. I don't get to fly kites :( I have to usher for opening ceremony.... School always make the uniform groups the usher, why not the clubs and societies to usher? gosh, furthermore, we get to sit in the....hall. Stupid right.... We help the school usher and they just chunk us at the hall. Well, i can understand that there might not be enough space.... But at least treat us better right... We are serving the school for like, nothing. Not like they would record that for CIP hours, and not that I need the hours that much, but its better than nothing.

Speaking about that, the school is really treating scouts like free workers! For open house, they want a campsite. Previously,uh i cant remember, but they made us do some job. The management might think its easy to construct, but we're a relatively new scout troop, we dun have the expertise, and they expect us at times to construct and construct. Not that they gave us short notice, but it is very time consuming for us. Sometimes, when we lend poles to the school for activites, they dun treat them well, for example, orientation, they screwed nails into our poles. Well, I understand it might be miscommunication, but whatsoever, scouts are entitled to feel a little upset cause we believe in honouring our promises, which the school MIGHT not have done. Not that I am a complain king or what, but the school should really think more about the students and try to spread out the load when having school events. Yes indeed, I am QUITE honoured to be serving the school, but it seems to be the same people doing all the jobs. Maybe we should get those not doing much work to do some work, so that the workload is more spread out.

On a lighter note, I think school has been quite good to us, keeping in mind that it is new. We cannot expect so much from a new school. But sometimes it is really frustrating to see some people really carrying all the burdenst that could be easily spread out with other people, for example, daniel the scout SPL. I can see that he is really stressed out from all the work thrown at him including acedemic stuff. I sympathise with him deeply, so maybe its time for the management to do something about it.

PS Dont't flame me for this post! Especially the teachers.

New blogskin :D what do you guys think about it?

Hey people... no soccer training today. coz of the bloody rain lol. The rain was real heavy today, maybe there were other days which were heavier but i haven been really noticing. Well, who would?
English portfolio was due today, so the old usual kiasu me handed it up first thing in the morning with jaryl and aik ann. After that was the assembly, which the drama members presented their videos. Not that the videos are really good(no offense, and i cant do better anyway), but they did it in 2 sessions, which is like real fast. Well he spekaers in the auditorium really have a problem, keeps squeaking. dunno what the management would do about it, probably nothing?
Moving on, there was the principal dialouge session today. Our level was probably the level with the least questions to ask. Right after the session, mr png scolded us all. I just have to comment that I sorta dislike those people who cause our batch to have the worst name in our school. Maybe not all of them, some of them might not be so bad, like those who just want to have some fun :P, but those really really wuliao, immature people who would go do inconsiderate things in our school. Without them, I think our level would be one of the best batch of students. Well thats part of life, but still because of them, we are going to be deprived of oppurtunities like going to Christmas Island. Ah, enough of bad stuff.

After that, jaryl and i did some parts of the stats poster that my team was supposed to do. Personally, I felt that our project was not really up to standard. Well, I blame myself for that, cause I was the one that picked the topic, which i felt was the main cause of my worries. Well done to my group anyway, as the rest of the project (other than my choosing of the topic) must be real good for mr loh to choose us, and thats where the group contributed. Well done!

Chinese, nothing needs to be said, 205 people would know. lol.

Went home with kay wee, jaryl, issac, donovan and geno today. Was quite sleepy on mrt but did not really manage to sleep. Maybe I should take a short nap. Probably I would oversleep, so no. Sleep earlier today :D.

I just love scouts. I might feel a tweeny bit of relecutance to pull myself out of the bed every saturday at 6 am, but once I reach the scout den, I somehow feel that sense of comfort in me. All of the scouts are on friendly relations with me, not to say that I am detested by many people, and the scouts are also fairly committed as well. Today, we had a very super siong pt(physical training). Even yew chun and tommy said tien hao ( all my scout leaders) was super siong. His push up was like.... down 1! *waits for 10 seconds* then down 2! lol.. not to say tien hao loves torturing us, i know its for our own good, but maybe it was a bit too slow. the part where we had to stay up really killed us. Maybe we should do pumping during pt in sets of 10? Well after that the seniors, including me of course :D, went to design and build some gadgets for speech day. We designed stuff like shoe racks, tool racks, clothes line and a rubbish bin! Ronald and I made the shoe rack. its super cool! Too bad i dun have a pic or else it would be the first pic in my blog lol. Well, the shoe rack was the result of inspiration from ronald mainly, but hey, at least i suggested using a cube! If you guys are dying to see it, its outside the scout den. Ask around if you dunno where it is. The other stuff were great too, just that it was a bit unstable, like ours too lol.

After that, we had a phototaking session and badge presentation. It was okay, acutally super that I got threee badges today! One for patrol second (Asst. Patrol Leader), one green bumble bee(the lowest level lol.. but i shall work hard!) and my Scout Standard :D. theres something fishy down here, but i ain't divulging the secret:P.

Then we had a leaders meeting which I am quite obliged not to say anything. We all then proceeded to the scout den to have our lunch: 4 large Ritez Pizza for 9 peeps! And we finished it! It was not bad, just that hawaiian pizza not up to standard but bbq chicken was the best i ever tasted! It cost round 70 bucks, quite worth it, with 3 drinks summore. We just fooled around in the den after that, playing chinese chess (O.o) and taidi! Lol.. shiiii, dun tell anyone else! then tommy told us a real funny story!

Here it goes: It was orientation or some day in ACJC, thats where he was from. He saw a girl, he said quite chio i think. Then he took an alcohol swap pack, which looked EXACTLY like a condom pack (I dunno why they would make it this way!?) , and threw it onto the girl and said, " Meet you tonight". The girl was like absolutly shocked! Then when she turned the pack over they all starting laughing!.. and tommy then ended the story by saying that was a great way for icebreaking sessions! Lol!

After all that just went home. What a great day i spent! now to worry bout the hw! sheez!

Hi peeps... Nothing much to talk about recently, nothing other than tests.... gahhhhh and bloody fps. Math test, i'm dead, for sure. Question 5, the congruency question. Gosh, I know I'm really slow at congruency stuff, and i lost like, 4 marks in that question... and the other questions are not neccessarily answered correctly.. so, i'm like dead :(. FPS, we took a long time to set our underlying problem, like 45 minutes, but at least I felt it was time well spent, at least we won't have to regret making a bad decision, but its something to be improved upon. I wonder how the people who go for the FPS competition manage to complete the whole 6 steps in 2 hours when we take 45 min just to find out the underlying problem. They must be like, superman or something.

God dam! I also missed my final sailing lesson! Cause I injured my leg, not that I want to publicise my injury. And I'm gonna miss out on much more. Darn. I'm sorta gradually getting used to my seating arrangement far away from my usual people. Still, I miss talking to them. Well, to look on the bright side, I got more opportunities to make new friends, and that I can still hang out with them during lunch. Well, there might be better seats out there for me, but as they always say, the grass is always greener on the other side.

For bio, we went to our very own ecopond in school! Not a bad place actually, better than most places probably. It even had a terrapin which we only discovered after stuart went to dip his hand in the water. Well, bio report is sorta done already, and lets hope ours is not too bad.

One great thing coming up, on the 14th of April the scouts are going to participate in some sort of clementi district bowling competition! Tis gonna be dam fun, though most likely we going to come back empty handed. I can imagine myself screwing up my score, but still enjoy! Lets hope my injury does not really affect me when I bowl. That reminds me, I needa letter to excuse me from soccer. Got to go!

BACK FROM CAMP!!!

SUPER FUN!!

All that you can ever think of, we did :D abseiling, rafting(not really.. but so what?!) and the challenge pole! And the instructors were like, one of the best you would ever come across, i like the debriefs, especially meaningful for me.

DAY ONE

Got at school like at 8? Then we were told that the bus only comes at 11.... so we waited lor. Then at like 9 plus we met our instructors and we made our flag. We called ourselves "High 5" because well, we are the 5th group and we are high! lol. Our instructor was vanessa! Went to Jalan Baterhra or how you spell it and had a briefing on camp rules as usual. Then we had lunch, learnt the new hungry cheer. I have to say the cheers in this camp are completely oringinal, nothing much taken from scouts or any other camps. That was very refreshing!
After that, it rained..... so our high elements got cut short. Meanwhile, we played some station games like the caterpillar game where you had a balloon in btw the 21 of us and picked up bottles. Also, we had the bench game where you had to arrange yourselves to a given order without talking, and falling! Well our instructor sort of... closed one eye then 2 eye then we got through haha.
Then, we had our high elements when the rain stopped! Challenge pole! We had to climb atop a single pole, look at a bar hanging in midair, and jump, and catch! Well i was the first one up against this challenge pole! I climbed up the pole real slowly, later fall like that paiseh mah, then sat atop the round thing at the top first. I slowly stood up looked and.....stoned there for like 2 min lol. I jumped, and i caught, and i hung on! did one pull up there :D Well the fact that i survivied the challenge pole I must the belayers down there supporting my er.... 53kg of weight and still not letting go! After dinner we had this game called kidnapped! timothy was kidnapped! hahaha! 4 people including me went to search for him and of course we found him! Then we proceeded to do some stations to get chances to find the key to release timothy. The first try we were super tyco, 13 supposedly came from mariel(wtf?) and we got the key! then after that we no luck liao cannot get the key. but one nice instructor called pillar gave us a very obvious hint that the key was in number one and we got the key! We got 1st for the kidnapped game! Then sleep!

Day 2

Our day started promptly after breakfast where we went to build the raft. I had an advantage in this coz i knew how to tie knots :D Then after that the instructor tell me i cannot help to tie knots :( well anw its good that other people learn to tie the knots too. and all of us participated in this! After that we washed up and prepared for our performance item. We decided on a pair dance, and our instructor, vanessa, wanted us to do boy and girl dance...Mambo No. 5. I got chosen to partner...gerlynn... At first i was like WAHLAO!!! but then later cool down and danced more er... properly? forgot some steps while dancing and thank god gerlynn reminded me sometimes. After that we had abseiling. Not that exciting as the challenge pole and boon siong, who did not go for the challenge pole as he had a BAD fear of heights dared to do this! So brave right :P The only scary part in abseiling was positioning yourself on the wall properly, then not as scary liao.

After that, we went for somemore station games. We had to get across a "river" using a rope and everyone managed it! We had timothy to walk on a plank while the guys supported his weight. We all fit into this small square wooden plank on the ground. Then we had to lift a tire out of a 10 foot plus pole? We tried real hard and were dam tyco when jaryl, stuart, ahmed and me managed to throw it out without it touching the pole and it got back in! even the instuctor said it was tyco! we then had this high wall which we completed in a record time. 21 people in 6 minuted plus! Opps! I almost forgot the rebirth station. We had to carry everyone through a tire without the cup on top of the tire spilling! Of course la, we managed it with er... ease. maybe except stuart. he was the last one haha.

Campfire! It was not exactly the best campfire i been to, if you really want a good one, go to sarimbun. but it was great too! our performance item was not too bad, and the others too! ahmed and jaryl danced solo and that was awesome! Great job guys!

Day 3

Sad sad sad, we had to leave today... ended up clean toilet haha. I learnt some other dances roughly and packed up and left. When we left I felt a bit reluctant. But anw, THANK YOU ALL THE INSTRUCTORS WHO WERE ENTHUSIASTIC AND MADE OUR CAMP FUN, EVERYONE WHO ORGANISED THIS CAMP AND MY CLASSMATES WHO WERE TOLERANT ABOUT ANYTHING THAT I MIGHT HAD DONE WRONG AND OFFENDED THEM.
1,2,3,4 HIGH 5!

dam tired now... the two days before was doing job week, going house to house looking for jobs. Was fun while doing jobs and bonding with my patrol, finally this scout troop is taking some shape. Well i choing-ed this job week and hit my target :D $$250!! My first time hit so high, the last time i barely made 30 bucks lol. I somehow look forward to job week after this experience. This experience was very unique, only found in scouts, no other cca can offer this kind of experience. For those who said scout is gay or useless think again. When we scouts grow up, we will know more things before you, and maybe grow to be more successful than you! So scouting rocks! Rockclimbing looms in a few weeks :D

Well anw back to today, slacked for a bit before getting to homework. This is like the only rest day other than thursday during this hols.. Sad right! But at least I don't get bored as easily as other people. Finally most of the projects have been done with. Can finally relax more, but still have to prepare for tests and exams! How rountine can life get- after projects, more tests??!!

For the past week psls had a one night camp in school. They called it an Adventure Course, but when you look at the event sheet, they are just workshops. Well, it was not to be workshops, for it was one of the better camps i went through, maybe even better than the pre- orientation camp in nov. Had real fun there, found out some of my strengths and weaknesses, i'm a refiner and executor (chop chop!), but more of a type of facilitator. We then had this amazing race in Hougang to get a feel of the community. I dared the guys in my group to go there and shout PAP, well of course we didn do that, who knows what might happen?? Well, I had to leave camp early, was a bit reluctant, cause the camp was so fun! Still left anyway and wasted 15 minutes waiting for a cab to go to my aunt's place.

Day after my camp, i had sailing course. Who might had expected what happened on that day! we were already on shore, preparing to rig up, when our instructors called us over. We went over not knowing what was going to happen next. They told us that that had NO POWER BOAT! so either someone had to sacrifice their boat and let the instructors sail and watch over us, or we go home. Well, i vouched for going home, but felt slightly bad, for if we arranged the course to be later, it would be a bit too close to eugene's APs. But well, there was only a small wind that day too, not really much point to sail.

Then the next few days were spent chionging stuff until today. Real worn out from all the activities and looking forward to sleep.

Oh gosh!! i just remembered i need to tell the new scouts something. Freak...

As maybe you guys can see, my blog never talks about people, it more of talks about things that happened, and i'm gald it does not talk about people. Talking about people on your blog, its a real big chance you are taking, note that your blog is easily accessible by anyone. There are severe backlashes you might face while blogging about people, one of them is that your subjects get very pissed off, and pisses you off somemore, great right? Trust me, during my own turbulent period, not saying that i have a "period", I read blogs to give myself an identity, its not like i don't have identity problems like some of us do. When i read something bad about me, or obviously about me, I get pissed off by them, but now, I try to take them in a positive way and sort of "model" myself after critisisms. Well, not everyone is like me, not that i am perfect, so you guys blogging abot people, you had better watch out. Choices have consequences.

Now i sound gay talking about people bloging about other people, but let's face it, its probably true i guess. That's all i have to say anyway, and have a good night.

Changed my song again, really nice song by robbie williams called strong, listen to it and try to interprete the meaning. To me it talks about putting a strong front but inside you aren't really that great or strong after all. This I think, is the case for most people, we really try to put a strong front for others to see, but well, sometimes we need to show our weak side too i guess.

Yesterday was a real great day. We went to play soccer with atlas boys or something like that in the school. I played at left back, something which i am quite used to. The first half was fortunately boring for our side's defenders, which meant we were winning. The second half was more eventful for me, running all along the left flank. Well guess i am not too used to playing with competition outside, lost my nerve at times. And ahmed especially, he was talking shit lot, telling people to do what while he was not playing, confusing me like siao, and after that he told me, " you must not listen to people one!" lol. Second half he played for the other side. Jaryl also played but on the right flank, and most of the time i was with kay wee on the left. Once I went for the ball and before i knew it, i was flying. Well after that rushed back to tampines for piano lesson and left my shoe bag in the taxi. shit la my shoe was less than 2 weeks old. fag fag. Made a report liao just have to wait and see. thats all got to go eat and mug later.

Well, in the mood to blog suddenly, maybe because of what happened during art. I just have to say it, and its dam gay. Not about ahmed or anyone I usually talk about but about a new year 2 scout, not chong wei or clayton. So for those who know, good for you. Well, I should start the story proper. The 203 table plus some other guys from other classes were crapping around, practically bullshitting and worse than what guys from other classes do. They were talking about, well, sex. Gosh, and that was right in front of the art teacher, Mr. Yang. Well, he did not mind it at first, he just ignored it. Then came the most interesting part, probably the gayest part. The poor guy I introduced to you just now, who apparently has worse lingo knowledge than a little child went, " What's a pussy??!!" quite loudly, something not really advisible in front of a teacher. Then Mr. Yang exclaimed, " What did you say??!!" Then we were there laughing our heads off. Well, then they just continued their gay talk and we were there thinking " Get a life kids". Well, that's all about the interesting part. Physics test was quite difficult, while pro yuan wei said it was easy... we almost beat him up after physics, well you know we won't. That's all for today. Have a nice day, and I really mean it.

Finally updating. Life's still as good as any other time. Got new shoes, which are white, not very good either(i mean the colour), as it gets dirty like darn easily. Got my sister's phone after she got a new phone, in case you guys don't know, but anyway you all don't need to know too. Well soccer on friday was very tiring, my boots were like burning from friction and so were my feet. once i could not stand it and took my whole boot off to cool down my foot. It was all the usual stuff except that we just did passing, imagine how boring that can be... but now i realised that passing is very important too, well i might sound stupid or something, but i think this is very vital in one's game, and i seem to suck in passing while running.

then the day after, i had scouts. we were doing drills etc and getting the new scouts into the mood of being a scout, ain't that great, being a senior scout. Well, during scouts i got thrashed in chinese chess (as usual), by chong wei. then took the long trip to tampines by mrt, which i had gotten used to, to attend some lessons. After that, I took my usual route home, which was without incident, except that my mp3 player went beserk during the mrt trip and after too. Well, i guess i had to enjoy the senery while walking home, without my music.....

Well today was also not without events too, but i shall be nice ( for once!) and not post them, just in case you want to know, its about stuart and ahmed, but i would divulge nothing else. Why this sudden change of attitiude? Well, I decided that if i were in their shoes, i would not want that either. Maybe i should "slim down" on the teasing that i have doing for the past, erm 13 years, well almost 14.

To those people who bother to listen to my song which i recently updated, this song's called "The Show Must Go On" and its by Queen. I forgive you if you never heard of them, but you should really try them out. You can ask me for a sample of their other songs, and if i'm feeling good at the moment, i just might give you a song or two. Well, more into this song, I really like the vocals here, which really moves my heart, which means my heart is not cold. The lyrics are also amazing, these lyrics are certainly not written by amatuers trying their luck, these lyrics holds meaning deep and not so deep inside. Just a really brief interpretation of this song by me, it just tells us to never give up. And if you really want to know more, go to wikipedia and search up about Queen, the band of course, and read the story behind the band and about this song too. I'm sure you will get moved once you know the story behind this song. Well, for this song, it is open to your intepretation of course and post some comments of what you think of the song will ya?

PS- In case you don't know the link to wikipedia its en.wikipedia.org enjoy.;)

long time no post liao... after a while blogging becomes a chore.. no kick liao. shit my laptop kanna blue screen again..... nvm at least i get a clean com when its okay. now the main computer also fixed liao.. the technician never remove the plastic film at the heat sink lar... then the CPU overheat then trip. now should be okay liao. lol now reading some free e books.. on how to prevent hacking, which instead teaches you how to hack lol.. and some improving memory thing.. quite interesting so far but i dun think i can make it to the end.. meaning that i cant finish it. well bye.

lol had fun in the chalet... real fun. and i have a "new friend" called called junie. hahaha. thats how the pizza guy spelled his name. well the chalet was just playing the xbox and watching movies... and doing something fishy lol. hahaha got ly's gf number and then we disturbed her with an indian accent. hahaha. even they believed the person speaking was INDIAN! LOL... hes still the same old guy you would expect from him, still gaying about his danielle, and telling jaryl and i who is hot on the bus. once he even wanted to follow one girl to bunona vista mrt station, we all knew it but he denied these allegations. well after that, he just said"wasted lar, should have followed her".. typical ahmud, don't ya all agree? well gosh for my studies, tomorrow's theory exam for me, and my chinese exams are screwed in my opinion... hope i do better in the other exams, not to say that i very kiasu, but still need to remain competitive mah, thats what makes the world go round.. maybe for ahmud he can be less "competitive" in going around picking out hot girls in the bus and spending more time studying. but really lar...its a bit difficult to study, get bored because you have 8 or 9 days of "hols" to study 5 or 6 subjects, which is a bit, erm... maddening to try to concentrate. gosh, better get back! bye

yawn.... nothing much to do at home... except what we call homework because we do it at home. smart eh? I can't seem to understand why people from my class cannot seem to relax a bit, especially since now is a time when we need to concentrate on our studies.... and when we recovered from a storm. Just take a step back... dun be so critical of people. It's not gonna do any good to anyone, people would hate you for that comment you made, and you would hate that person too. Is that how you would like to have a "united" class, by inducing hatred within the class, splitting the class up? So..... the message here is to RELAX, thats the best solution... dun be so critical of people around you... not only you would feel happier, but the person would be happier too! In fact encourage that person instead!

Well.... thats the optimistic part of the post.. here comes the darker side of the post....

In fact, I have been pissed off slightly or maybe even a little worse. Well, i have been reading blogs and hearing people doing what i detest.... critising without knowing the real situation.... well for heaven's sake they should find out the real situation before critising, for they dun knwo the real bloody situation. Examples.... "then also, heard from **CENSORED** and **CENSORED** that in the morning, jun han passed the register file to pan chuen, but then pan chuen retaliated and then said "f*** off lah" or something like that, all i know is with the f***. then i was like hopping mad. if he doesn't want to take up the damn job, then just tell mr ku that he really don't want. now he's like neutral, don't want to do anything, but still keep the title." ok i would not name who posted this. But i just dun like the content of it. Comon, this person and few people know of the real situation of the chairmanship before the recent elections. Mr Ku just asked me to allow him to submit my name as class mentor rep... not to be a real one. for sure he would respect my decision of resigning.. he ain't that unreasonable. yet you all still think that he really put me back as the classchairman. GAWD! then of course i would refuse to do the attendance duty. its just not my duty anymore, why should i take the duty? I am no pushover for heaven's sake. then i dun understand why does this person go on and on critising mr ku about the chairman thing. You all think he has a lot of time in his hands? please have a bit of empathy. hes not superman. so please understand people's situation first befroe going on babblering or critising about that person. well in fact we shoulden be doing that in the first place.
Well it might seem that i might have contradicted myself in the non- critisim stand in this post, but sometimes i do make mistakes too. but i try not to. so you guys in class who keep on fretting over class matters it seems that its time to take a breather and a step back.

ok for the sake of posting... doing a quiz ahMUDDY tagged me to do..
Instructions.
1. I love unle teo( my dad's colleuge) too... hes dam funny.. toking bout my little sis, making fun of her. You all should have seen her man! she was quite pissed haha. b4 that we went to the park. hahahaha ahmed and gerlynn kanna a lot of bites while i didn.. i rock mozzies hate me :D. well cant remember when was the last time i got a bloody bite from a mosquito. and i was lucky i wore long pant and a shirt too though it was moderately warm.. dun understand why ppl cannot tahan hot one. my moderatly warm is their very hot! well back to my dad's office.. had a real hard time persuading ppl to interview.. lucky i know them.. if not i tink i was quite irritating. some of them were real hilarious.. think we might as well make a sit com instead of a doc liao.. something like blackadder lol. then we all act like mr. bean... act spastic like spongebob. haha.i love all my father's colleuges.. all quite sporting one. they rock. okay time for credits! thanks to... Me!(ego guy here) ahMUDDY, debra! gerlynn! my MOMmy! uncle andy.... auntie bee hong.... some engineer ( or sales person)....and finally....UNCLE TEO!!! (and maybe my sis?)

Okay.... After that went to funan.. my elder sis had to repair her 3 year old fujitsu(compared to ahMUDDY's 8 month old ibook).. something went loose with the power. okay so after that walked around challenger looking at cameras and mp3 player for my sis. well now i think i would like to have a zen vision: m.. although its on the big side, its 30gb! and i tink its quite a good mp3 player... with ipod it feels so constrained.. cannot share so many things... and then like my father says "SUPPORT ASIAN BRAND!!" now i am thinking... whats so good about apple? i mean( dun get offended) their laptop sucks-- expensive, slow, not compatible with lots of stuff... mp3 player-- looks good... sound not as good as other brands like iriver... and not as many functions as creative. Hm... if i get a creative.. i have to convert many songs... like a 1000??!! sheez.. one big obstacle.. well i tink this post is long enough.. gotta go!

troubled recently.... lots of stuff happening in the class or rather happened, before and after my resignation as the class chairman. well, don't think its too smart to post about them here. Sheez man, somehow sometimes i get the feeling that i am not really wanted in the class... not to say that they are bad but sometimes i get that feeling. maybe its coz i want to do too many things for our class... but somehow i get a contradiction, sometimes i just want to let it all go, have a trouble free mind. but my other half tells me to "do do do". this makes me feel guilty. maybe its because of my perceived guilt that i have the feeling of being left out, not wanted. well i don't expect you all to do anything about it, in fact, i don't want anyone in my class to do anything, lest they think of the worst things that i would never ever do. i just want to have something to write to, to ease some of my guilt. sometimes, its just so difficult for me, i know its a wrong approach, but i try to make everyone happy. well what can i do? i just wish to be free of all these burdens...... tell me man... what should i do!!??

muahahahahaha. ahmed rocks man... dun ya all agree? hahahaha!!! today in class he said that danielle looks dam pretty when she lets down her hair.. then guess what was aik ann's witty reply? well this thing is not completely over yet... we still have to sort out our differences but very fortunately we have at least gone over the heated debate ( well i won call it an arguement). well i have to thank the girls one way or another.. well they helped me in maybe reducing my obession in soccer and waking em up so that i would help the class more often.. maybe this would help me improve my popluarity rating in class (grins) hahahaha well gotta study now! bye

PS its not offically over yet... but at least we are more than half way through yay! those who feel the girls have done something that is very wrong (like....) dun take it that way lar... it was for the class anyway... anyway none of us are totally right!

WHAT THE HECK??!!! what an ass man..... well... the girls complain that i am not doing much in class... making it seem as if i am pushing responsibility as the class chairman to my vice- chair.... they are also not happy that i seemingly dun share the credit with the class... for heaven's sake!!! like i love credit that much... if i wanted real credit... would i subject myself to so much critisim by being a bloody class chair when i could have been a normal pupil and contribute my ideas and still get the credit all the same.. i admit that i do not say whose idea it was sometimes... but its not that i want the bloody credit to myself... if the girls think that being the class chair is the easiest way to get credit and they love C-R-E-D-I-T so much... they can try being the class chair dude.... and when just yesterday i spent 2 odd hours organising a proper committee and sending an email to them when i could have instead done my homework..... one of the girls told me the email was gay!! its like what the heck man.... this makes me feel dam sickened of the girls who keep critising me.. are they doing anything constructive at all??!!! so much for doing something for the class and not getting reciprocated... if they think that they can do a much better job than me at being the class chair.... then bloody hell, just tell me and i would step down and willingy let her be the bloody class chair! then lets watch and see whether her management of the class is as good as that bloody tounge of theirs man. we will see.......

well.... guess its time that i started a blog. choosing this template coz it looks like a soccer stadium. i might sound a little crazy bout soccer, if you want to carry on reading my articles, then you had better bear with it :P. well lots of things happening in class now a days... getting somewhat of the blame inevitably
as the class chairman.... stressed up naturally, might be good or bad.. well can only find out when i get back my test papers... sheez.. got sva to do... crappy!!!
